By using the Play Indoor platform, you consent to the collection and use of your personal information as described in this policy.

- Account credentials (passwords are stored in hashed form)
Booking & Match Data
- Bookings created or joined, including venue, court, date and time
- Check-in status and attendance records
- Payment status, amounts, and transaction records
- Cancellation records and any applicable penalties
Payment Information
- We collect payment authorisation tokens via a secure payment provider.
- We do not store full card numbers or CVV codes.
- Transaction reference IDs are retained for audit purposes.
Device & Usage Data
- Device type and operating system
- App version
- Log data such as access times and error reports (used only for platform maintenance)
3How We Use Your Information
We use your personal information to:
- Create and manage your account
- Process and record booking transactions
- Calculate split payments based on confirmed check-ins
- Apply and process penalty charges where applicable
- Resolve disputes using verified booking and payment records
- Send transactional notifications (booking confirmations, payment reminders, penalty notices)
- Improve the platform and troubleshoot issues
- Comply with our legal obligations under South African law
4Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data in the following limited circumstances:
- Venue partners: Booking details (organiser name, date, court) are shared with the relevant venue to facilitate the booking.
- Other players in a booking: Your display name and check-in status are visible to others in the same booking.
- Payment processors: We share minimal payment data with our payment provider to process transactions securely.
- Legal obligations: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the platform from fraud or illegal activity.
5Data Retention
- Booking and payment records are retained indefinitely for audit, dispute resolution, and legal compliance purposes.
- Account information is retained while your account is active.
- If you request account deletion, we will remove personal data not required for legal or financial record-keeping within 30 days.
6Your Rights Under POPIA
As a data subject under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), you have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction: Request that inaccurate or incomplete data be corrected.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data, subject to our legal retention obligations.
- Objection: Object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
- Withdrawal of consent: Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time (this will not affect prior lawful processing).

- Tokenised payment processing (no raw card data stored)
- Server-side payment and penalty processing that cannot be influenced by client-side actions
8Cookies & Tracking
The Play Indoor mobile application does not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. We may use limited session tokens and local storage to maintain your logged-in state and improve app performance.
If you access any Play Indoor web pages, standard session cookies may be used to maintain page state. These are not shared with third parties.
10Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or in applicable law. We will notify registered users of significant changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
