Terms of
Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of the Play Indoor platform. By registering an account or using any feature of the platform, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Play Indoor (the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws and regulations of the Republic of South Africa. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the platform.

These terms apply to all users, including players, organisers, and venue partners.

2Eligibility

  • You must provide accurate, current and complete information during registration.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You may not create multiple accounts or use another person's account without authorisation.

3Platform Use

The Play Indoor platform is provided solely for:

  • Booking indoor sports facilities through participating venues
  • Managing match participation, attendance and check-ins
  • Processing and recording payments related to confirmed bookings

Any use of the platform outside of these purposes may result in account suspension or termination.

4Organiser Responsibilities

When you create a booking as an organiser, you accept the following responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that the booking details (venue, court, date, time) are accurate before confirming.
  • Inviting players through the platform and managing attendance.
  • Ensuring that the full booking amount is paid within the allowed payment window.
  • Accepting liability for a flat R200 penalty if the booking remains unpaid 2 hours after the match ends, where applicable.
  • Notifying players of any cancellation within the free cancellation window (more than 24 hours before the match).

5Player Responsibilities

  • Players who check in to a match accept responsibility for paying their individual split amount.
  • Only checked-in players are included in the final payment calculation.
  • Payment must be completed within the permitted window as described in the Cancellation & Refund Policy.
  • Players must not misrepresent their check-in status or payment.

6Payments & Fees

Play Indoor does not charge a platform subscription fee. The following financial obligations apply:

  • Booking costs are determined by the venue and are payable by the players as either a full upfront payment or as a split amount among checked-in players.
  • Split payments are calculated based on the number of confirmed check-ins when the check-in window closes (30 minutes before kickoff).
  • Penalty charges of R200 may be applied to the organiser's account if the total booking amount remains outstanding 2 hours after the match ends.

All payments are processed via secure payment authorisation. Play Indoor does not store full payment card details.

7Cancellations & Refunds

Cancellation and refund conditions are governed by the Cancellation & Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms of Service.

Key conditions:

  • Bookings may be cancelled free of charge more than 24 hours before the scheduled start time.
  • No refunds are provided for cancellations made within 24 hours of the booking start time.
  • Full refunds are issued for bookings cancelled within the free cancellation window.

8Prohibited Conduct

You may not use the platform to:

  • Engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
  • Misrepresent your identity, booking details or payment status
  • Manipulate check-in data or payment records
  • Circumvent or interfere with the platform's payment systems
  • Disrupt, damage or impair platform functionality
  • Create fake bookings, fake accounts, or multiple accounts

9Intellectual Property

All content on the Play Indoor platform — including the application, its design, branding, text, graphics, and code — is owned by Play Indoor and is protected under applicable South African intellectual property law.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the platform without prior written permission.

10Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • Play Indoor is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.
  • Play Indoor does not guarantee the continuous availability of the platform and is not responsible for any losses caused by downtime or technical errors.
  • Disputes between players or between players and venues must be resolved through the platform's dispute process, and Play Indoor's liability is limited to the value of the disputed booking.
Play Indoor makes decisions based on verified backend records — not client-side screenshots or user-reported data. All dispute outcomes are tied to system records.

11Account Suspension & Termination

Play Indoor reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account if you:

  • Violate these Terms of Service or the Acceptable Use Policy
  • Engage in fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity
  • Accumulate repeated unpaid penalties
  • Provide false information during registration or while using the platform

Account termination may be immediate and without prior notice in cases of serious violations.

12Dispute Resolution

If you have a dispute regarding a booking, payment, or penalty:

  • Contact Play Indoor support at playindoorsouthafrica@gmail.com
  • All disputes are reviewed using booking records, check-in data, and verified payment transactions
  • Outcomes may include refunds, credits, or adjustments based on verified platform data

13Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts for any disputes arising from these terms.

14Changes to These Terms

Play Indoor may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated to registered users via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the platform after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
